Father Forgive Me

Luke 23:34

Then said Jesus, Father
forgive them; for they know not
what they do. And they parted
his raiment, and cast lots.

In Good Friday service around the world thees words are read and used in sermons. We all agree that Christ showed his great love, when he was forgiving toward the people who crucified him and mocked him. But we never think how often Christ has shown us that same forgiveness. When we call our selfs Christian but pick and choose who we will love.

I have look back on my life and I can see how I have cause other people pain because of only seeing a problem from my side of the fence. There are times when people reach out to us, and we are blind to their needs or fears. Why is this?

Because we forget that part of love is listening until we can hear and understand the needs of the people God has given us to minister to. Christ said to Peter three time in John 21 “Feed My Sheep” If we love God we feed his sheep. But how can we feed his sheep if we will not listen to them so that we might understand them as Christ listens to us and understand us.

Can the people God has given us to minister to say of us, that they know that we are Christians by our LOVE.

Bible Verse for Today

Psalm 120:1

I call on the LORD in my distress, and he answer me

In pain, sorrow , and confusion God has heard my prays and he has answered them.

How do the people who are without a savior face life? We should praise the LORD that Jesus is our savior.

What bible verse has God used in my life to teach me and bless me in my Christian walk

Joshua 1:9
Have not I commanded thee?
Be strong and of a good courage;
be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed
for the LORD thy God is
with thee whithersoever thou goest.

HOW GOD USED THIS VERSE IN MY LIFE.

Fear and the call of God. My calling has taken me to places and to live among people that had proven that they could and would be dangerous. At first when God gave me that verse I said why do I need courage if I'm at a place and with a people that God has sent me to show his love and be his witness. It is because God has not called us to be fools, Nor will he make us supermen or superwomen. We need to feel fear in dangerous situations but we need not be afraid because God is always in control of every situations that happen in his service. There is a courage that comes from God that brings a peace to us and leaves us free to love the unloved. God will give us the love to touch the untouchable. And because they see his love not fear in you they believe that there is a God who loves them. Because we were faithful to the task that God gave us he put a wall of protection around me and my family. And I say we because we were called as a family unit and we served God as a family unit. Not by our might but by the strength and wisdom of a all knowing God. And I thank God because where ever we went God made that place our home and the people our family.

Romans 8:1-2 "Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit of life set me free from the law of sin and death."

This is a Scripture that helped me the first time I ever backslid. I believe we're all one step away from backsliding. Some do it up big time, some do it in small increments. It's still backsliding. To know without a doubt that I am called by Jesus releases me from all guilt when I realize I've stepped over the line. I confess my sins and He is faithful and just to forgive me of all unrighteousness according to 1 John 1:9. That's another Scripture that has ministered to me greatly over the years. Without Christ I am as filthy rags. I can't be righteous outside of Him.

To My brothers and sister in Christ Jesus I think him and you also for this opportunity to break open the word of God with you. I believe that as we study his word we learn from it and also from each other. I believe that God speaks to all of hie children. I hope we can share in this group the things that God has told us in our studying of his word. It is a great joy and honor to be a part of this group. Let us pray for one another that he will speak to us though his word and may we listen to his voice Yours in Christ Rev Hopkins
